Originally a room for just cooking in, the kitchen has come a far cry from its initial purpose, and is now designed with so much more in mind. Depending on the size of the room and the available space, you may wish to combine your cooking area with your dining and living zones, or you may wish to separate each room entirely.

The Kitchen Larder
Historically, a larder was a cool area, usually just away from the kitchen, for storing food prior to use, and were commonplace in houses before the invention of the refrigerator. The essential qualities of a larder in historical times were to be as cool as possible, close to food preparation areas, and equipped with shelves and cupboards appropriate to the food being stored; much like the essential qualities of a larder today!
We cannot recommend the Burlanes team enough; they just knew what we needed and got it so right.Amelia Tate - Corringham, Essex
