A very popular design element to most new kitchens, a kitchen island is a very desirable feature creating additional worktop space, storage and seating. An island is also a great way of making use of redundant space in a large room, or increasing the functionality of a smaller kitchen. 

The kitchen island is probably something we get asked about most, so we have rounded up some of our most frequently asked questions.

The Blue Wellsdown Galley Kitchen

We are so pleased to be back out on the road again photographing our clients' wonderful homes and their bespoke Burlanes furniture, and we kicked it off with the Blue Wellsdown Galley Kitchen in Chelmsford.

The owners purchased the beautiful townhouse a little over 18 months ago and have undertaken a huge renovation project, including a side return kitchen extension to the rear of the property.

Traditionally, kitchen cabinets have always been angular and square, however in recent years, curves in the kitchen have become a more desired design, for both aesthetics and as a space saving technique. 

The Wellsdown project in Sevenoaks was designed with a curved kitchen island to allow for a better flow around the room.
