Get the look - Country Kitchen with a contemporary twist

February 2014

The kitchen is the heart of the home, where you spend most of your time. It really tells a story of how you live and your habits and tastes. When working with clients to design their dream bespoke kitchen, we aim to create the look of something that was built up over time with pieces that the owner loves.

Georgina Dent and her husband are in the process of renovating their property, attempting to be sympathetic to its 1910 roots whilst putting some of their own modern day stamps here and there. Lindsey, our head designer, helped to achieve their inspirations by using the Burlanes signature country kitchen look and complementing this with modern chrome fixtures and fittings to keep the look fresh and streamlined. A few finishing touches such as their Oxo tower paintings and freshly spun copper lights (courtesy of Georgina's Father-in-law) give the kitchen the final industrial twist they were after.

Georgina is thrilled with her Cosentino granite worktops in her chosen colour of  lagoon gloss "I do spend much more time than I should cleaning and polishing them!" Luckily they are quartz with a polished finish,  a perfect alternative to classy Carrara marble, that looks as good but is stain resistant and easy to clean!

The Cosentino granite worktop is cut to fit the double belfast sink with drainer grooves that are etched into the quartz.  These ensure water flows naturally into the sink. No need for a draining board!!

The most imporatant part of designing and installing a kitchen is to meet our clients' expectations.

Georgina Dent sent us a lovely email after the work was completed:

"I couldn’t recommend Burlanes highly enough as a company to work with. They continually put the client first and there is no job too big, or small that they are not willing to do to achieve the absolute best results possible. Bring on 2015 and the Bathroom project!"
