Meet The Team: James Prince - Burlanes joinery apprentice

Burlanes workshop joinery apprentice
At Burlanes, we pride ourselves on producing beautiful interiors of the highest quality, that really do stand the test of time. We provide a bespoke service, from the initial meeting and design stages, right through to the final handover of a project. Each piece of furniture we create is hand made and hand painted by our team of craftsmen in our own workshop.

Our dedicated team of joiners and carpenters are the masterminds behind the beautiful furniture we create in our workshop. Each and every one of our craftsmen are highly skilled at what they do, and they hold many years of experience between them.

James joined the Burlanes workshop team 4 months ago, helping out around the workshop and prepping the furniture before assembly. James' consistent hard work and dedication to the workshop was brilliant, and he has recently enrolled on a joinery college apprenticeship of which he will work towards with Burlanes.

Let's meet James...

Tell us a little bit about yourself and ow your career has unfolded...

Since school, I have always had an interest in woodwork and carpentry, and have always envisioned myself within this line of work. I joined the Burlanes workshop team earlier this year as a sander, sanding and preparing the furniture for assembly. I have since enrolled on a joinery and carpentry apprenticeship with a local college, or which I will work towards with Burlanes.

Describe your dream kitchen...

My dream kitchen would be a country cottage style, much like the Burlanes Wellsdown kitchen. The cupboards would be hand made from danish oiled oak and hand painted in cream. I am a real family man, and would like a big family of my own one day, so a large island with a seating area for family meal times and entertaining guests would be top of my list! I am also a real foodie, so lots of work space would be needed for cooking and trying new recipes with hopefully a beautiful wife by my side!

What do you think makes a 'happy home'?

Family. I am a real family man and would like a big family of my own one day. I think if you have your family around you then you do not need much else.

What would people be most surprised to know about you?

I'm single! I have also entered a charity boxing match to raise money for Macmillan Cancer Support. I am starting training for the fight soon, and the match will take place mid December!

All of the Burlanes team take enormous pride in their work, go above and beyond and show an incredible level of client care.
