This weekend will mark 3 years since we opened the doors of Burlanes Chelmsford, and what a fantastic 3 years it has been! To celebrate the occasion, we are looking back at our most loved projects designed by our Chelmsford design team, handmade in our workshop in Historic Rochester, and installed across Essex, London and Hertfordshire by our team of highly skilled kitchen fitters and craftsmen, working solely for Burlanes.

The Contemporary Hoyden Galley Kitchen

The homeowners of this beautiful family home in the Essex countryside visited Burlanes Chelmsford early last year, and worked with our Chelmsford design team to create their dream family kitchen extension. They had recently purchased the property, and had an entire home refurbishment planned. 18 months later, the refurbishment works are complete, and the property is stunning.

With a busy work schedule and two small children, the homeowners wanted to create an open-plan kitchen diner that would work well for family meal times, socialising and entertaining guests. The rear extension to the home created much more space, and with the addition of the multiple sky-lights installed, it allowed us to design a galley style kitchen that was flooded with natural light.

Traditional Meets Contemporary In The Decolane Kitchen In Essex

Located in the most beautiful serene great British countryside in Essex, we can understand why Mr & Mrs Green fell so in love with this beautiful property, and saw the potential it had to be such a wonderful family home. Burlanes were commissioned to design, handmake and install a bespoke family kitchen, and our Chelmsford design team worked alongside interior designer Fiona Duke.

Handpainted in Borough Market by Mylands, a wonderfully dramatic dark green named after the market’s iconic iron building, with beautiful contrasting Silestone Calacatta Gold worktops and burnished brass handles, the kitchen has a unique look and feel. Painting the walls the same iconic colour creates such a wow factor to the space.

The Blue Decolane Kitchen In Upminster

Something a little different to our usual style, we injected a little glamour into our handmade Decolane kitchen in Upminster, Essex.

The homeowners wanted a classic shaker kitchen with a contemporary twist, and all the benefits of modern living. Our Decolane kitchen was the perfect choice, handpainted in the most beautiful dark shade of blue, "Bond Street" by Mylands.

The Classic Burlanes Wellsdown Family Kitchen In Leigh-On-Sea

With their children growing up, Mr & Mrs Hills in Leigh-On-Sea decided it was time to give their much loved family kitchen a well deserved renovation, creating a space for all the family to use and enjoy.

They wanted a kitchen that had plenty of storage and was user friendly for all the family, so commissioned Burlanes to transform their cramped and dated kitchen into a spacious and open-plan room. Walking into Burlanes Chelmsford, the couple took an instant like to our Wellsdown kitchen; our take on the classic Georgian country kitchen; built on the notions of good proportions and symmetry, combining traditional charm with all the benefits of modern living.

Within 2 weeks, the Burlanes site team had begun demolition works on the dividing wall between the existing kitchen and dining room, and production on the homeowners' new kitchen had begun at the Burlanes workshop, to create and build the beautiful light-soaked kitchen the family had always dreamed of.

An Industrial Style Galley Kitchen In Chelmsford

As part of an entire home renovation of their 1920s town house in Chelmsford, Essex, Sophie and Chris Hoxton created their dream kitchen by adding a side return extension to the family home. Not only did this create more space, it also opened up the back of the house, allowing natural light to flood the room. Having relocated to Chelmsford from London, the couple wanted to bring a touch of their London lifestyle to their new kitchen, and commissioned Burlanes to transform the space.

An Open-plan Contemporary Style Kitchen

It was such a pleasure working with Mr & Mrs Baker to design, create and install the bespoke Wellsdown kitchen for their beautiful town house in Saffron Walden. Having already undergone a vast renovation on the bedrooms and living areas, the homeowners embarked on an open-plan kitchen and living space renovation, and commissioned Burlanes for the works.

The homeowners wanted a classic, country style kitchen with a contemporary twist; our Wellsdown cabinetry, handpainted in Chambers Gate by Mylands, is just that!

Just down the hallway from the kitchen is the utility room, designed to be smart and practical, and in keeping with the family kitchen too.

Bespoke Bedroom Furniture For A 16th Century Cottage
As well as lots of kitchen projects, we have worked on a number of beautiful bedroom, bathroom, utility rooms and home office projects too!

Situated amongst acres of farmland in the heart of the Hertfordshire countryside, this beautiful 16th Century family home is everything a traditional British country home should be and more! We were delighted to be commissioned to design, handmake and install bespoke furniture for the homeowner's master bedroom, dressing room, en-suite and family bathroom.

Things are a little different right now, however Both Burlanes Sevenoaks and Burlanes Chelmsford are open for browsing and design appointments; we just kindly ask that you call ahead of your arrival. We have strict procedures in place to ensure both studios remain safe and clean environments at all times. The well-being of both our design team and our customers is our top priority, therefore we have implemented a number of things to ensure you can continue with your project and design your dream kitchen, bedroom or bathroom in a safe and comfortable space:

• We will be carrying out just one appointment at a time, meaning there will be just members of your household and your designer in the studio at all times.
• We have hand sanitizing stations at both studios, and we will ask that all visitors use these, or thoroughly wash their hands, when entering and leaving our premises.
• We have social distancing guideline markers on the floor throughout both studios that must be followed, meaning at no point will you be within two metres of your Burlanes designer.
• We have installed plastic screens of the highest quality in our design areas, allowing your designer to present to you at a distance, in the safest possible way.
