Why Summer Is A Great Time To Renovate Your Kitchen

Why Summer Is A Great Time To Renovate Your Kitchen

There is no right or wrong time to renovate your home; and you should only undertake any aspect of work on your property after a significant amount of planning and preparation, however with summer fast approaching, we have put together our top 5 reasons to why the summertime is a great time to renovate your kitchen!

1 - Dry weather
We are in the UK, where we are known to have experienced all four seasons in just one week, but generally the weather is much dryer from early May to late August. It does not have to be a beautifully bright and sunny day to install a kitchen, however when the ground is dry, delivery of the furniture is a lot more straightforward. Our installations team are extremely respectful of your home no matter what the weather; flooring and walls are always protected, however if there is particularly heavy rainfall or muddy ground, it can make things a little more challenging. On the rare occasion that weather is extremely severe, building works may also be unable to progress, which could lead to a potential delay of your project too.

2 - Warm(er) weather
Again, we are in the UK, so scorching summer days tend to be few and far between, however if you are embarking on a kitchen extension or a significant renovation project, knocking down walls, building a new roof and a lack of windows whilst the works are taking place is much easier to live with when the weather is warmer! Being able to have windows and doors wide opening when painting etc is also very beneficial too.

3 - Enjoy the outdoors
A kitchen renovation is not something that can be rushed or completed in a day or two; particularly a bespoke, made-to-measure kitchen that will need specialist installation. Your kitchen will be out of action for a couple of weeks, therefore being able to use your garden or outdoor space for BBQs and al fresco dining is a real bonus, and something that you probably would not consider in December!!

4 - Natural lighting
Bright, sunny days can fill your kitchen with an abundance of light, which is perfect for selecting your cabinetry and worktop colours. When you are selecting your colour choices for cabinetry, worktops, flooring and walls, natural light can help you identify the true nature of the colours that you are considering.

5 - You can go on holiday!
At the moment, travel plans are all on hold due to the worldwide pandemic, however once these have been lifted and we are free to travel again, you may wish to organise your summer holiday around the dates of your kitchen installation, allowing the installers to get on with the job, and you will return home to your beautiful new room!

Both Burlanes Sevenoaks and Burlanes Chelmsford are open on an appointment only basis, and we have strict procedures in place to ensure both studios remain safe and clean environments at all times. The well-being of both our design team and our customers is our top priority, therefore we have implemented a number of things to ensure you can continue with your project and design your dream kitchen, bedroom or bathroom in a safe and comfortable space:

• We will be carrying out just one appointment at a time, meaning there will be just members of your household and your designer in the studio at all times.
• We have hand sanitizing stations at both studios, and we will ask that all visitors use these, or thoroughly wash their hands, when entering and leaving our premises.
• We have social distancing guideline markers on the floor throughout both studios that must be followed, meaning at no point will you be within two metres of your Burlanes designer.
• We have installed plastic screens of the highest quality in our design areas, allowing your designer to present to you at a distance, in the safest possible way.

To arrange an appointment, please call us on our usual numbers (Sevenoaks - 01732 605 001 / Chelmsford - 01245 352 557), or email [email protected].

All of the Burlanes team take enormous pride in their work, go above and beyond and show an incredible level of client care.
