Go Bespoke

A bedroom is the most personal space in the home and should be the most personalised. Do you need space for a TV? Fitness equipment? A shoe collection? At Burlanes, our expert team of designers can help you ensure your bedroom is designed to fulfil your every need. Bespoke shelving in your Burlanes wardrobe will also mean you can configure (and re-configure) the internal fixtures and fittings to provide you with storage solutions that are fit for your needs. Ask your designer about the different options available to you. You will be pleasantly surprised at how bespoke freestanding or fitted furniture can make your life easier.

Consider your Space

When you are ready to buy bedroom furniture, start with your floor plan, your bedroom should not feel cluttered and overwhelmed by the furniture within it. We know how to add concealed storage to make the most out of small spaces or custom pieces that tie in the look of a larger room. One of the best ways to ensure your bedroom furniture does not dominate the room is to use otherwise unused space. By doing so, you will be sure that your furniture will not protrude into walking space which results in the room being overcrowded or cramped.

Have Plenty of Storage

To add to the serene feeling of a bedroom, store things out of sight. This will help the room appear calmer and more spacious. Choose a bedside table with drawers or doors behind which you can hide books, personal items, and reading glasses within reach but out of sight. A trunk or a storage bench at the foot of the bed is a great way to store extra sheets, blankets, and pillows. Finally, a custom-designed organisation system can also help you make maximum use of your wardrobe space.

Choose Colours Wisely

Every bedroom we create is unique and timeless, your colour choice is an important part of this. A bedroom is a place to relax and unwind from day-to-day cares and we recommend you choose colours that relax you. Do consider the bedroom’s orientation; how much sunlight it gets and how will your colour choice look in both natural daylight and lamplight. By opting for a light, neutral palette for your furniture, it will not become a large focal point in the room and will blend in seamlessly. Dress the room with colour in your accessories instead.
