Let's meet her...
Tell us a little bit about yourself...
I am lucky enough to have worked within the bespoke cabinetry and interior design industry for almost 10 years now! During this time, I have designed, project managed and completed over 200 client projects. It is always such a pleasure to help customers create their dream spaces - each of which is tailored to their lifestyle.
My passion for interiors and kitchen designs especially stems from being raised by a foodie family. To me, the kitchen is the heart of the home. I feel very privileged that clients allow me to become part of their intimate everyday life, creating spaces for all to enjoy.
Describe your dream kitchen...
I am a huge fan of mid-century interior design. The combination of mixing the new cabinetry with antique pieces makes such an amazing statement. I would probably choose a traditional shaker-style kitchen with accents of new-age drama!
My ideal setup would be an open plan design - with a large island for my cooking and entertaining needs. I would have a vented induction hob with stunning pendants giving me great task lighting. I would display my personal effects, such as artwork, candles and glass jars on open shelving. It is very important to smooth the transition between living and kitchen space in an open plan room; this way the space flows effortlessly giving the room a calmer feel.
Tell us a little bit about your career. How has it unfolded?
My introduction into the bespoke cabinetry industry was one of coincidence. Originally, I had joined a company as an administrator. A month into my probation I learned they were opening a new studio close to where I lived and the top salesman at this company, unbeknown to me, threw my name in the hat for consideration for the role of the designer. A month later, I was the youngest designer to have opened a studio in the lovely town of Chislehurst. I spent many wonderful years there and found my passion for interior design!
Name a kitchen gadget that you couldn't live without!
I love the Quooker tap, this fantastic piece of kit is a perfect kitchen addition. It makes so much sense; boiling, chilled, filtered or sparkling water at the twist of a button.
What would people be most surprised to know about you?
I am a huge country music fan - so much so that my partner and I named our dog, Cash (after the legend that is Mr. Johnny Cash).
All of the Burlanes team take enormous pride in their work, go above and beyond and show an incredible level of client care.Charley Davies - Essex
