Our Process
Start your Burlanes journey by booking a design consultation with one of our expert teams. We know not all clients can travel to our design studios so to help us create your dream project we ask you to complete the following steps. The more information you can provide the better our team can understand your requirements and preferences.
1) Room plans or measurements of the space. This can be a hand-drawn one but please do include windows, doors, ceiling heights etc.If is also helpful to receive photographs of the space so our designers can request any additional measurements they might require.
2) Full address and contact details
3) Details of any structural work taking place
4) Any design preferences, door types or stylistic decisions.
5) Appliance choices if applicable.
6) Mood boards, colour choices, design inspiration, these can be in whatever format you prefer (photos or a Pinterest board).
Once we have this information we will be in contact to book a personal or digital design appointment to discuss your project. Your designer will be able to create a stunning bespoke design perfect for your space. If this is agreed upon (and your deposit taken) the final design will be completed with any additional touches you want. Then our project management team and production teams take over ensuring each and every project runs smoothly, and to our client's exact expectations.

Our Workshop
All of our furniture is handmade in our own workshop located in the historic town of Rochester. Combining traditional style and craftsmanship with precision engineering and modern machinery, we create beautiful, handmade British furniture, using only the finest, sustainably sourced, materials.

Sustainability
Sustainability and our impact on the environment is important to us, and that is why we make a conscious effort to only use sustainably sourced materials and practises for the furniture that we manufacture.
Responsible Timber
We only source and use timber from responsible, well-managed FSC certified forests, and our precise processes and machinery ensures waste is kept to an absolute minimum.
Giving Back
We are very proud to support The National Forest Regeneration Project. We plant a tree for every kitchen, bedroom and bathroom we create.
Built To Last
Every piece of furniture we create is built to last a lifetime, with dovetailed drawers, robust cabinets, solid hinges and never-fail door closures.
Safe Paint
We only use water based paints, made using natural earth pigments, which are virtually solvent free and kind to the environment.
