Kitchen Design Tips Inspired By Spring 2019

Burlanes Bespoke Wellsdown Country Kitchen
We are mid-way through Spring and mother nature has already gifted us with some gorgeous weather and clear blue skies, where has the time gone?!

If you are planning your dream kitchen and need a little inspiration to give you a spring in your step, we have put together some top tips and design ideas to get all the kitchen inspiration you need for Spring 2019...

Choose a spring colour palette

Our trend prediction for Spring 2019's colours are optimistic yellows, misty blues and forest greens, combined with off-whites and creams. Last year was all about the dark and moody blues, but green is set to be making a real statement this year, and we cannot wait!! When paired with brass accents, green really brings out spring / summer opulence to the kitchen. The addition of white worktops and carefully selected lighting help to bounce the light around the space and off-set the heavier hues.

Introduce light into the kitchen

Let in as much natural light as possible! Research shows that natural light is one of the top features people look for when buying a family home, so extend a window or, if your kitchen leads into the garden, install bi-fold glass doors to soak the room with light. The natural daylight will highlight any soft undertones in your chosen colour and give a brighter, warmer feel to the kitchen.

Keep it natural

A natural, Quartz worktop not only looks beautiful atop Burlanes cabinetry, but also provides multi-purpose eating and working areas. A Quartz worktop is stain-resistant, extremely durable and non-porous so does not allow bacteria to grow, making it easy to clean and maintain.

Make a statement

If you feel choosing an on-trend colour for your cabinetry is not right for your kitchen and prefer a timeless white or elegant grey; make a statement with patterned tiles. A pop of colour can really bring the room alive, whether you choose to have a patterned tile splash back or make a feature with patterned floor tiles, you can inject your personality into the kitchen design.

Create sociable areas

The kitchen is no longer a room used only for cooking and cleaning; the kitchen has become the central hub to catch up with friends and family, so emphasise this with a sociable area. A breakfast bar or seating area incorporated into the central island gives guests somewhere to get comfortable while you are busy in the kitchen, or if space allows, consider a living area within the kitchen, so you can enjoy the kitchen as a space to relax and appreciate the spring views with a good book and a nice cup of tea.

Consider a banquette seating area

Banquette seating is very on trend this spring, and is a great alternative to chairs for your dining or lounging area. They present a more inviting and relaxed environment and do not compromise comfort for style! Our Burlanes banquette seating is completely made-to-measure; you can just imagine sitting in your own kitchen with friends and a glass of wine, enjoying the longer, warmer evenings.
